James McDonald will present a glimpse of the rich history of Potomac Yard. Potomac Yard was a freight yard in Alexandria, Virginia built in the early 1900s to serve 6 railroads all which served Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. This included the Southern, Richmond Fredericksburg and Potomac, Baltimore and Ohio, Chesapeake and Ohio, Pennsylvania, Atlantic Coast Line, and Seaboard Air Line. It was closed in the 1990s and is now the site of a shopping mall.
